Dynamic glazing: in use internationally

ECONTROL® goes global (hall 11, stand H58)

A quality product, short delivery times, comprehensive support and insulation glass production by selected local partners – with this full-service concept, EControl-Glas has successfully trodden the path of internationalization. In order to show the route it has taken to as many people as possible, the pioneer of dimmable glazing is using the glasstec (hall 11, stand H58) to present its capabilities. “Smoothly running procedures and a product that impresses our customers  – we have already worked together with EControl successfully on many projects”, says Leif Hogner, Managing Director of the Norwegian company SmartGlass AS, one of the local partners.

In Trondheim, Hogner, who also works for the Norwegian insulation glass manufacturer CG Glass, and EControl have processed 303 glass panes covering 275 square metres: a landmark project in which the dimmable glass really shows its strengths: there are no mechanical blinds to disrupt the overall appearance of the façade, the view to the outside remains unobstructed and the climate of the interior is positively influenced. “The team from EControl-Glas is an ideal partner. Everything was perfectly coordinated”, explains a satisfied Hogner. The international progress of the company is based on this full-service concept and local partnerships. “Recently, for example, we have realized projects in Australia, France and Russia. Glass is now going to Kazakhstan for a 250 square metre dome and in Scandinavia around 2000 square metres of our glass have already been installed”, reports EControl Managing Director Tobias John, “even South Korea has discovered our dynamic shading.” In the technically advanced countries “smart buildings” are extremely popular. The smart glazing and the digital control concept of EControl form an important pillar of these intelligent buildings. The EControl solution allows both automation and individual control and is therefore ideal for the “world of work and life 4.0”. This also includes checking by the EControl experts in Plauen: all the data on the glazing can be called up through remote access.

Dimmable glazing from EControl, available as double and triple-pane insulation glass, reduces the transmission of light by up to 90 percent whilst allowing a free view to the outside and at the same time keeping out the heat. This creates a comfortable room climate in the workplace and at home. For private households EControl glazing is, for example, suitable for use in conservatories in order to be able to enjoy the view of the garden even in hot weather.

The electrochromic EControl-glas is dimmable thus reducing the transmission of light by up to 90 percent. At the same time, the transmission of energy is reduced appreciably, so that rooms don´t heat up that much.
