Impressive Façade: Functional Glass for Creative Minds

Functionality and esthetics of oversize glass – that is what the two product lines sedak isodecor and sedak secudecor unite. The insulating and safety glass units are printed with ceramic inks and fulfill decorative and functional requirements (sight protection/ solar protection) up to 3.2m x 16.5m.

Leuphana: Lüneburg’s Libeskind flagship

Many spectacular architecture projects can only be realized with exceptionally innovative solutions – as for Lüneburg’s Central Building of the Leuphana University from star architect Daniel Libeskind. The futuristic design, with its many asymmetrical shapes, required a solar control solution that would perfectly enhance the overall artistic impression.

CarTeck Frame 2.0: Easy and quick installation

Using less individual parts and with the help of well-engineered connections Teckentrup (Verl) simplifies the installation for its garage doors. Thus the „CarTeck Frame 2.0“ is very installation-friendly, requires low-maintenance and is installed faster. At the same time it offers many individual solutions. „Furthermore this model is visually extremely appealing”, says Ekkehard Grohs -the head of the development/construction department who drove the development of the new frame further- happily.

13m High Glass Under Protection

The renovation of the UNO building „United Nations Conference on Trade and Development“ in Geneva shows how today’s production technology makes monumental protection possible also for buildings with glass façades. The 13m high insulating glass units, which in 1971 had been fabricated manually and during an effortful process, had now to be replaced. sedak delivered tempered double IGUs produced fully automatically. The dimensions are still impressive.

Slim board, sustainable effect

With the right external wall insulation system, you can improve a facade’s energy credentials even when there is very little room in the case of a refurbishment, or if you are aiming to maximise the living space in a new build. With its extremely slim yet efficient insulation board, StoTherm PIR is ideal for these scenarios.

Internal insulation systems for all purposes

When external insulation is not possible on a facade, the spotlight falls on internal insulation. Regardless of the time of year and weather, this solution can be used to incorporate energy efficiency measures into rooms. Sto’s three internal insulation system versions are each suitable for different requirements.

Perfection for the eyes and ears

Rooms make an impression – whether consciously or, as is often the case, unconsciously. It’s all to do with aesthetics, proportions, ventilation and lighting, thermal comfort, and acoustic well-being. With four tried-and-tested systems, the StoSilent range offers acoustic solutions for virtually every room – from offices to restaurants and quiet spaces. They hit the right note with their appearance too: the StoSilent Modular 300 version has just won the German Design Award 2017.

The criteria for the right EWIS

Mineral or organic, non-combustible overall structure, especially thin high-performance insulants: the right system is out there for every insulation task. This breadth of choice is essential because every building is different: the construction type and location factors have to be considered, as does construction legislation, and of course the client’s preferences must be taken into account as well. There are six criteria to consider when choosing an insulation system, and with eight different systems, Sto has the right solution for every requirement.

Sustainable and practical

Even “alternative” insulants still need to be high-performing, professionally workable, and built to last. The new M 039 wood fibre insulation board makes the long-established StoTherm Wood facade insulation system a real alternative for solid construction. Thanks to the improved thermal conductivity and optimised application properties, using a renewable resource as insulation is now a viable option from the perspective of both the planner and the tradesman and building owner.

StoSystain R: Hook and loop instead of adhesive

Thanks to its innovative hook-and-loop technology, the recyclable facade insulation system StoSystain R can be dismantled and divided into more or less individual parts, most of which can then be reused. Render carrier boards made from recycled glass are fixed in place with high-quality hook-and-loop fasteners on top of any type of insulant and are then coated with individual rendered surfaces.
