Acoustic ceiling system wins German Design Award 2017<\/span><\/p>\n

Rooms make an impression \u2013 whether consciously or, as is often the case, unconsciously. It’s all to do with aesthetics, proportions, ventilation and lighting, thermal comfort, and acoustic well-being. With four tried-and-tested systems, the StoSilent range offers acoustic solutions for virtually every room \u2013 from offices to restaurants and quiet spaces. They hit the right note with their appearance too: the StoSilent Modular 300 version has just won the German Design Award 2017.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The StoSilent product assortment offers a comprehensive range of sound-absorbing products for four central system versions. In addition to the technical benefits, a key focus is always placed on design aspects. High-quality finishes allow for outstanding architectural design combined with well-designed room acoustics.<\/p>\n

The variable StoSilent Modular ceiling element range improves acoustics and is ideal for retrofitting in rooms that are already in use. The versatile system versions \u2013 which offer varying levels of sound absorption depending on the surface, suspension height, and format \u2013 are also suitable for buildings with concrete core activation. Thanks to the adjustable suspension and different options in terms of shape and colour, the ceiling elements also function as design elements. The StoSilent Modular 300 version is the ideal choice for special design requirements. The absorbing board, which is made from polyester fibres and is just eight millimetres thick, features a three-millimetre visible aluminium profile edge and won the German Design Award 2017. The elegant appearance, which was developed in collaboration with the ID AID design studio in Stuttgart, won over the judges, who praised the fact that \u201cthe panel system with relatively thin polyester fibre board and high-quality haptic surfaces (…) can be arranged in both free forms and groups, as well as in grids, or more complex free grids\u201d.<\/p>\n

The StoSilent Distance suspended plastered board system creates seamless ceiling or wall surfaces of up to 200 square metres. The system is available in both non-combustible versions and versions with limited combustibility. It achieves sound absorption values of \u03b1w = 0.35 \u2013 0.80. Very smooth or finely textured surfaces can be created in a wide range of colour shades depending on the coating system.<\/p>\n

StoSilent Direct is suitable for simple, direct installation on walls and ceilings. The system can be used to create both seamless and accentuated-joint designs. The sandwich panels made of stone wool and expanded glass granulate rate highly thanks to their high level of sound absorption (\u03b1w = 0.60 \u2013 1.00 depending on the coating) at a low installation height. Plasters with various different grain sizes can be used as coatings. One version can be combined with the photocatalytically active interior paint StoColor Climasan, which actively breaks down odours and harmful organic substances.<\/p>\n

Flexible acoustic plaster systems provide a solution for rooms where it is not possible to install suspended cladding. StoSilent Compact Sil (with limited combustibility) has a fine plaster structure. The system is particularly suitable for flat surfaces and achieves absorption values of up to \u03b1w = 0.45 (MH). For curved surfaces such as domes or vaults, the multi-layer (non-combustible) StoSilent Compact Miral spray plaster is an excellent option, as its rough, porous structure dampens noise and reduces reverberation (\u03b1w depends on material thickness).<\/p>\n
